Why does the cutting head not melt during plasma cutting?

The cutting head of the plasma cutting machine is made of materials that are heat-resistant and designed to withstand the extremely high temperatures of the plasma. In addition, the shielding gas that flows through the cutting head cools the components and prevents them from coming into direct contact with the hot plasma.
