Stone cutting

7/20/21, 7:29 AM

Until recently, stone cutting was associated with saws or diamond discs, which allowed for cutting stone in a straight line. Today there are new technologies that open new roads, new possibilities.

Such possibilities include hydroabrasive cutting – by a stream of water. Precise CNC cutting machine with a pomp that can produce pressure up to even 6000 bar, allows for very precise and - what is more important – curvilinear cutting of stone. Cutting straight or artistic elements in natural stone, gres, ceramisc or tiles becomes easy. The edges are smooth and don't require additional treatment.

Machines offered by our company allow cutting of stone up to 250 mm of thickness.

Our machines are used nowadays in many European countries with the treatment of stone, tile cutting, granite blocks cutting etc.

To choose the right solution for your needs, before buying a cutting machine, we enable to make practical tests of cut in our factory. During such test phase you are welcome and you can convince yourself that your expectations can be met.

Precision stone processing mainly uses water jet cutting (waterjet), often with the addition of an abrasive (garnet). This allows for shaped, highly accurate cutting of even hard materials.

This technology:

  • does not generate high temperatures
  • does not cause microcracks
  • enables very high precision
  • enables cutting in any shape, not only linearly
  • .

Most commonly machined:

  • granite
  • marble
  • sandstone
  • lime
  • conglomerates

Waterjet can also handle very hard materials.

  • high precision and edge aesthetics
  • no heat treatment
  • possibility of cutting complex shapes
  • good repeatability in mass production

Opal Waterjet is an advanced CNC waterjet cutting machine from Eckert designed for precision cutting of materials with waterjet technology. The machine is mainly used in the stone industry, but it also allows cutting metal, glass, stoneware, ceramics and plastics.
