First installation of Titan DrillCut 3000 × 12,000 mm - new Eckert CNC machine launched in Norway

1/9/26, 7:00 AM

Before the start of 2026, Eckert has completed the world's first installation of the Titan DrillCut machine, introduced to the manufacturer's portfolio in 2025. The system was sold, assembled and put into production operation in Norway at a customer operating in the metal industry sector, specializing in the manufacture of steel components and structures.

This realization confirms the growing demand for integrated CNC machines that enable not only thermal cutting, but also precise hole machining in one continuous process.

Requirements of modern steel structure manufacturing

In industrial plants implementing steel construction projects, process efficiency, repeatability of details and compliance with applicable standards are increasingly important. In practice, this means the need to combine fast sheet metal cutting with precise preparation of assembly holes - without additional operations and without transferring workpieces between workstations.

It is in such applications that CNC machines that integrate plasma and oxygen cutting with machining play a key role, responding to the real needs of series and unit production.

Titan DrillCut - an integrated CNC cutting and drilling system

Titan DrillCut is a new machine in Eckert's portfolio, designed for the production of steel structures, where it is crucial to combine CNC cutting with mechanical drilling of holes without the influence of heat. The Norwegian implementation uses a system with a working area of 3 000 × 12 000 mm, enabling steel components to be machined in a single, integrated workspace.

Machine combines:

  • HD plasma cutting,
  • oxygen (oxy-fuel) cutting,
  • and advanced hole processing realized by an independent drilling slide.

This combination makes it possible to produce complete workpieces within a single CNC system - from contour cutting to preparation of mounting holes that comply with the requirements of standards for load-bearing structures.

The technological configuration used in this installation

The installed Titan DrillCut was equipped with an extensive technological configuration, including:

  • support VarioDrill: for drilling, threading and deepening holes,
  • support Vortex 3D for HD plasma torch, enabling precise cutting of chamfers and bevels,
  • support oxygen HD3000 with GCE Fit+3 torch: designed for cutting thick steel sheets,
  • Eckert Part-Booster and Micro-Joint technologies,
  • advanced 3D auto-calibration and process control systems.

It is worth noting that in many steel structures, not all holes can be made by thermal cutting. Components responsible for bolted connections often need to be prepared without the influence of heat, in accordance with the requirements of DIN EN 1090-2. The VarioDrill used in this realization enables mechanical machining of the holes directly on the CNC machine, allowing the process to remain continuous while meeting the requirements of the standard.

First installation of a CNC machine is also possible.

First installation of Titan DrillCut - an important step in the development of Eckert's offering

The commissioning of the world's first Titan DrillCut machine marks an important step in the development of the Eckert portfolio and confirms the direction in which modern CNC systems are being developed. The installation was carried out in cooperation with an authorized distributor, and the machine has been fully deployed for production work.

This is a solution for companies that expect:

  • combine different machining technologies in one system,
  • shorten production time,
  • elimination of secondary operations,
  • comply with the requirements of standards for steel structures,
